Access to Funding Support
UK Trade & Investment offers a number of grants and funding schemes designed to help your business trade internationally. Eligibility for this assistance will depend on the following:
- Location of your business - for example, regional grants may be available if your company is based in a rural or economically-deprived area.
- Type of business – for example, SME, R&D focussed, new to export etc.
- What you want to do – for example, visit a market, exhibit overseas, conduct market research etc.
The main funding schemes available are:

Market Visit Support - Market Visit Support (MVS) will allow eligible companies to visit overseas markets as part of their trade development.

Tradeshow Access Programme - If you are eligible, you could receive up to three grants of £1800 (for separate exhibitions) to help you acquire knowledge and experience of exhibiting effectively overseas, as part of your longer-term export strategy.

Cluster Initiatives - help, advice, support and funding specifically for West Midlands companies within the 10 specific West Midlands clusters

European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) - The project is designed to provide financial support and direct assistance to help businesses generate or safeguard overseas sales. Improve overseas trade related business processes or improve products and services for new overseas markets.

Passport to Export - A programme offered to new and inexperienced exporters to offer support in visiting potential markets, mentoring from a local export professional, free action plans, customised and subsidised training, and ongoing support once you're up and running.
